Ms. Eenam Gambhir, a 2005 batch Indian Foreign Service Officer and has held positions of Joint Secretary (Director General) in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi in UN Political Division as well as in G20 Secretariat during India’s G20 Presidency.
Immediately before the above responsibility, she has worked as Director (Multilateral Economic Relations), where she dealt with G20, BRICS Presidency (2021) and G7 related issues. Before this, she served as a senior adviser on Peace and Security issues in the Office of the President of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly at the UN HQ in New York.
Ms Gambhir has also served in Indian Embassies in Latin American Countries such as Mexico and Argentina and is a fluent Spanish speaker. Ms Gambhir has dealt with issues relating to India’s neighbourhood especially Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran in different capacities while working in New Delhi from 2011 till 2016. She also served in the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations in New York and covered political and peace and security issues till June 2019.
Ms Gambhir holds two Masters Degrees; namely Masters of Sciences in Mathematics from Delhi University and Masters in Advanced International Security from the University of Geneva.
Ms Gambhir is fluent in Hindi, English and Spanish.
